About the MTL Veggie

Hi there!

I’m Jess, and welcome to the MTL Veggie.

Who am I?

I’m a 20 something vegetarian, foodie, runner, skier, marketer, Torontonian turned Montrealer, and now blogger.   I love to cook, I love to eat, I love to talk about what I cook and eat.


To me, healthy eating means consuming minimal amounts of processed pre-packaged foods and instead opting for copious amounts of whole grains, veggies, fruits, legumes, nuts, wine, chocolate and the occasional piece of cheese.   I strive to eat mostly vegan* but I will never EVER give up cheese. Ever.


What you will find on here:  fun, delicious, (mostly) healthy, and usually easy to prepare recipes, local restaurant reviews and recommendations, the occasional exercise update, and anecdotes from a Leafs fan living in Habs territory.

What you will NOT find on here: I don’t food journal.  Tried it, failed miserably. I aim to blog a few times a week and believe in quality over quantity.

I promise that every recipe shown has been tried, tested and true by yours truly and will tell you if it’s not worth trying.

So that’s me and my blog in a nutshell.
