Day and Night

I’m back!

Safely home from Ottawa and exhausted! One of the busiest and most action packed weekends I’ve ever had, but by far one of the most fun too!

Rather than type a million words to describe the events, I’ll let the pics speak for themselves.

I give you: Tanya’ s Bridal Shower and Bachelorette

Shower favors, mugs painted by yours truly!

Breakfast smoothie to fortify myself for the day ahead: Berries, Spinach, Soy Milk, Strawb proetein powder and some greens powder. Tess, post up what type in comments haha

Tess, busy in the kitchen!

Kelly, sister of the bride

Dark chocolate dipped strawbs, so proud of these hehe

Tomatoes, fresh from the Kayes' garden...

Made into the most amazing Tomato and Bocconcini salad ever! Basil was from their garden too!

So. Much. Food!

Most beautiful bridal shower cake! Vanilla butter cream, cake was 3 layers per tier: Lemon cranberry sandwiched between strawberry cake. Twas simply divine!

Day…

Bridal Party! Kelly, Tanay (Bride), Tess and Me!

To night!

Can you guess the theme? I’ll give you a hint:

If you guessed Vaudeville/Cabaret… you would be right!

She LOVED it!

Bishop's Girls!

We took Tanya out on the town for clubbing and good times.

This was a weekend of so many memories we’ll all cherish for a long time.

Overall highlights of my weekend had to be:

– The amazing food at the bridal shower, Mrs. Kaye has a kick-ass garden of veggies and herbs that made the food THAT much more delicious

– Red lipstick; I don’t care how horrible you’re feeling about yourself, – put on some red lipstick and you will feel like the most beautiful and mysterious woman out there- try it sometime 🙂

– Sharing a queen-sized bed with Karo and Tess; well this wasn’t exactly a highlight as I was in the middle and consequently was squished the entire night but it was still a memorable event

– Watching the expression on Tanya’s face as she enjoyed the fruits of Tess, Kelly, Mrs. Kaye and my labour.  Best. Memories. Ever!

Back to our regular veggie-filled blog tomorrows starting with the recipe for this gem:

Bon soir mes amis!

Question: Have you ever gone to a Bridal Shower/Bachelorette? What were the details/moments that stood out for you?

  1. I have had my own bridal shower and bachelorette party! I loved seeing the decor at my “mad hatter” themed shower. It was amazing.

We also had a spa day for my bachelorette party as I’m not really into the party scene. It was a lot of fun!

  2. Tess says:

All Greens powder: Super Berry Concentrate. This is a powdered fruit/veggie melance that you can add to water, juice, or even iced tea. Buy it at Costco, health food stores, I think Shoppers Drug Mart…. It’s an awesome way to make sure you’re getting all your vitamins (though it’s no excuse to skip out on regular fruits and veggies!!!!) and only costs a few calories lol. I highly recommend it.

Ingredients: Cranberry, Blueberry, Alfalfa, Apple, Chlorella, Barley Malt, Black Currant, Barley Grass, Carrot Juice, Spirulina, Pineapple, Mango, Tomato, Artichoke, Wheat Grass, Broccoli, Celery, Grape Sed, Beets, Dandelion, Siberian Ginseng, Milk Thistle, Green Tea, Ginkgo and some other stuff lol.
