Or watch the birds 😉
I managed to leave work a bit early so I missed the majority of the traffic up north to the cottage. CK has been up here for 2 weeks already with his family so it was nice to see him outside of an emergency room 😉
I was welcomed with open arms and was encourage to not do any cooking- clearly they don’t trust me to not maim myself again! Where’s the trust? At least they gave me a glass of wine.
I hadn’t been up here in a while, between my parents visiting, the girls weekend, and my visit out west, it’s been one crazy summer. But upon my return I was immediately reminded on why I shouldn’t stay away too long:
How can you avoid this kind of view??
Dinner tonight included one of my summer favs: fresh corn on the cob from the farmer’s market! I was brought up where corn on the cob should never be purchased from the grocery store- so nice to see that CK’s family feels the same way 🙂
CK’s Mom also picked up a few stalks of very fresh and local dill- I was promised a stalk of my very own 🙂 You all know what that means:
Sorry not much else to report here. If you’re wondering how my finger is doing, I had my bandage changed this morning- so far so good, no infection!
Well, I think I’m going to go enjoy my cup of chai tea and watch the Montreal Alouettes destroy the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Yes, I am just THAT Canadian (plus I have zero control over the remote up here).
