Over the Hump

This one is gonna be short and sweet as I am fading FAST!

Upon arriving at the office, after I finished my liquid breakfast I was still hungry so I decided I needed some carbs and protein to help tide me over until lunchtime. So I ambled over to the caf and grabbed another English muffin with peanut better (do I sense a trend?)

Lunch was pretty random yet delicious consisting of:

Mango pieces

Multigrain crackers with cheese and hummus

Leftover coleslaw from the other night

Vanilla yogurt with some granola crumbled over it

For an afternoon snack I had an un-pictured “Taste of Nature” bar.

At around 2:15pm EST the love of my life returned home from the land of beer and weiner schnitzel. Being the ever so sweet girlfriend I am (and in desperate need of a break from work) I popped over to the airport to pick him up and bring him home.  So glad that I did because I actually got to enjoy the afternoon sun! In case I hadn’t mentioned before, I work in cave area of the office with no windows.

After I dropped the man off at home I headed back to the office to finish up for the day. When I came home, I went on a much needed 3M run and felt terrific! The sun and warmer weather are such mood-lifters after a hard days work, oh and the endorphins don’t hurt either!
One thing I’ve definitely noticed over the past few weeks of training is I have no sense of pacing myself.  I feel like I’m always running at the same quick pace and never running “easy”- if any experienced runners have any tips to share it’d be much appreciated 😉

When I returned from my endorphin-fix I was informed our power was out- awesome!

So the man I decided that we’d eat out tonight and headed over to Amir’s.  Neither of us was especially hungry but we both knew we’d need to eat otherwise it would have negative consequences later. I ordered myself a falafel sandwich and a nice bottle of water. Sorry no pic!

After dinner the power was still out so we decided to go for a walk and relax in the open air.  We won’t necessarily run together, but we will go for walks together which I personally find more enjoyable as a couples activity anyway.

Soon after we arrived back from our walk, the power came back on –yeah!

And now dear blogosphere, I am going to bed because I am fighting to keep my eyes open and I’m not in the mood to fall asleep and wake up with a keyboard imprint on my face. Bonne Nuit!

  1. Oh man! I used to work in an office with no widows. It was horrible! i never knew if the sun was out or it was raining. I got out of that situation FAST.
